![]() Habibia Junior Madressa & Islamia Primary took to the sidewalks to express their concern over the Al Aqsa Mosque and the general situation in Palestine. 25 October 2000 - Early morning, soon after arrival at school (9.00 am) the children of Habibia Junior Madressa took to the streets outside their school. Those of you who are familiar with the Habibia complex (also known as the College) will know that this complex in Cape Town, houses the Habibia mosque, Habibia Junior Madressa, Islamia Preprimary as well as the Islamia Primary School and not forgetting the Habibia Orphanage. The complex is also home to many other social and cultural organisations such as an Islamic library, madressa and Urdu and Arabic language classes, etc. The children took to the streets standing on the corner of Johnston and Duine Roads. The writer was on his way to drop his wife at work when the wife remarked that he must return home to fetch his camera to take photographs of the children showing their solidarity with the oppressed in Palestine. Naturally, the writer obliged and the 72 photographs were taken of the kids ....... and their teachers ....... and their parents. The authorities sent a Casper (specialised police vehicle to combat riots) to monitor the situation. Two policemen patrolled the area, one making notes on his clipboard, every five minutes or every time a child shouted, "Takbeer!" The policeman walked the length of the pavement, looking for the principal of the school. He even asked the elegantly dressed lady in green if she knows who or where the principal was as he had to notify her that the protest was only allowed for half an hour. The lady in green replied that the principal was most probably on holiday. The kids carried on with their peaceful protest while the policeman walked up and down the street, making notes and pointing to his watch. The school's photographer who was commissioned to take graduation photographs also joined in and took pictures to record the moment. The policeman aimlessly roamed the streets looking for someone in authority to whom he could point out that the time was over for the protest. Unscheduled, the children of Islamia appeared from their school and lined up on the pavement outside their school. They joined the preschoolers of Habibia Preprimary to make the protest line longer. The policeman hastily made notes again and possibly restarted the timing of the protest. One by one, the kids lined up, extending the queue towards the adjacent Habibia Primary School's Sports ground. Children and parents of all nationalities can identify with the atrocities committed by the Zionists, against the Palestinians. The UN has condemned the Israelis for using excessive force. We, in South Africa can identify with the situation in Palestine as for decades we had a similar evil called Apartheid. The present government of South Africa has expressed their disgust at the killings of the innocent and unarmed, in Palestine. The founder of the Zionist state - Israel - Hertzel admitted in his writing the need for using force. Jabutensky, the professor of the Zionist terrorism gangs taught Menachim Begin and Issac Shamir how to prepare the young Zionist to be absolute belligerent terrorists. When Israel was founded, Wiseman, the first president called for the use of terrorism, then David Ben Gurion drew up the plans of the terrorism. If anyone stands up to the Zionist, you're branded as anti-Semite but attacks against Muslims and Islam is allowed and tolerated; in some instances, encouraged.
